21 Days of No Sugar = 21 Days of Freedom

Hello Dawson’s Life fans!

I apologize for being MIA but I am back with some new deets and info for you to living your best life everyday! This month, I decided to focus more on my health and trying to lose weight, always trying to be better.

One day I looked in the mirror and just saw a body I was not proud of and the face of a girl I didn’t recognize. I admit, finishing my Masters degree helped me pack on wayy too much weight from the stress but, I constantly battle with never putting myself first. My birthday month changed that mentality and helped me feel more free… from sugar that is.

I decided to look into multiple options and heard of a story about a man that lost 40 pounds from doing no sugar for 30 days. Yes no sugar, including the healthy kind: that means no fruit, no honey, no carbs, no chocolate! Although men tend to lose more weight than women, I decided after Labor Day to give it a try and look for some options online.

The best thing about the internet is that there is so much more information available to you. I found tons of list options, specifically on Pinterest along with lots of healthy recipes. This list helped me to narrow down what I can and cannot eat but there are multiple levels. And if you know me at all, you know football season and tailgate season are at their prime during September.

Not going to lie, La Croix and S. Pellegrino have been my best friends since starting my detox. My favorite meal had to be eggs, spinach and turkey bacon and drinking lots of water has already helped me shed a good 15.5 pounds in 19 days!

The last day of this detox ends the day before my birthday, September 28th, and on my birthday you know I am going to indulge a little. However, it is a balancing act so I am picking and choosing wisely. I can guarantee I will be having a drink to celebrate as well as something with chocolate in it when I visit Epcot’s Internationl Food and Wine Festival at the Walt Disney World Resort. Stay tuned for next week’s post focused on my birthday celebration and my longterm plan to make myself a priority.

Stay Growing, XO.
